My love for reading has always been so profound that it was only natural that I would venture into the realm of writing. I’m so thankful to my mother for instilling in me the benefits of reading at an early age. Reading and writing has helped me throughout the course of my life.
Name a challenge you’ve faced throughout your journey of publishing your book “Young Bird: Up, Up & Away”? How did your overcome it and RISE?
I think one of the hardest things that I’ve faced throughout this journey is having faith in myself and my abilities. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy and get in our own way. However, I had to remind myself that these books were for me and a lifelong dream that I was determined to see through.
How do you balance being a wife, mother, business professional, and author?
It’s hard!! There were many nights of falling asleep on top of my laptop and crying because I was just so exhausted. But with prayer and having a husband who pushed me on my worst days, as well as my best days helped tremendously. I also wanted my children to see that realizing a dream is not far fetched at all. We did this together and I will always feel that way.
What advice would you give aspiring authors?
No matter how hard it gets, no matter how many times you put it down/walk away, or feel like you can’t do it, DON’T GIVE UP! The tunnel may seem very long and endless but once you get on the other side, the feeling of pride is indescribable.
